Blind lists(opponent does not know what you have) also have advantages for assaulters. You can build a deck of cards that can determine extra effects.

I love playing on those type of dynamic tables.Lootedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17166923149514370098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1312169504632714332.post-16538693206421595972012-05-02T11:27:26.559-07:002012-05-02T11:27:26.559-07:00Jim, that sounds awesome! Boring terrain is one of the few reasons I don't play in tourneys any longer.

Aren't you in or near the SF bay area? I'd be happy to throw down a game of city fight sometime in June when I've got some free time. Since I will need to playtest the scenario for the narrative event I will be running at CelestiCon in September.

Cheers,
-JimBig Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10363832056474538807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1312169504632714332.post-52715907238132217872012-05-02T08:19:21.690-07:002012-05-02T08:19:21.690-07:00Thanks for the comment, CTF! But, I'd almost sign up just to play on some different tables!

Do you guys have any links to pics of stuff you've done? The theme of the event becomes the tables rather than the armies. The hard part is creating & storing all of that terrain.Chicago Terrain Factoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13120517237019460964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1312169504632714332.post-68188825068745762362012-05-02T04:07:44.984-07:002012-05-02T04:07:44.984-07:00Skimmers ruin river type tables for most people. ...Skimmers ruin river type tables for most people. The advantges are't typically included in the cost. Mech has to choose which bridge to cross, but skimmers and jetbikes get to ignore it and fly to the other side. We have two boards that are almost never used at my FLGS. One has a river with a central island and about 6-7 bridges wide enough for land raiders, and the other has lava fissures throughout the board. I've played 2 games on the river board and my opponent complained the whole time. I've never seen the lava board used.

I agree, I want to play a game where the terrain adds as much to the game as my enemies army build.

My favorite expansion was cities of death.Kevin Spyrlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07861282058033709654noreply@blogger.com
