Good news, everyone! I should have all of the back orders shipped this week! That will, unfortunately, leave me with very little on the shelves again… but hey, at least the back orders will be filled. Again, I’d like to thank all of you folks who have been sooooo patient with GSI this past month or so.
I’m on the verge of a new product… The Chain Maker tool! This is not something that can be made singly at a machine shop like the Tentacle Makers; I’ll need to have my CAD drawings adjusted by the molding shop, prototypes made, aluminum molds created, and then finally the product molded should the prototypes work as expected. This will not be a cheap startup so I’ll need some input from you all, right now.
The Chain Maker will be sold as a pair of identical press molds and enable the user to create Green Stuff chains in 2'” increments. The alignment mechanism and open ended molds should make them very easy to use. It may be possible to make chains of near unlimited size provided the prototypes works as expected.
I have some questions for you guys:
- Would you find this tool useful in your day-to-day modeling efforts?
- As useful as the Tentacle Makers?
- Is it acceptable that the tool must be lubricated with vegetable oil before each use? I don’t know if this will be necessary, but I thought I’d ask.
