Broodlord Conversion

Guest Post by Waaagh! Gear

Hello from Japan! During my latest trip to Tokyo I found a Workshop to plunder in the Nakano. After some uming and arrhing I ignored the new crater scenery, the Space Wolves codex and the three book rule set and went for the Deathstorm box set. For 16000 yen I was pleased with the value. It contained a box worth of Genestealers, three 'Nid warriors, a Carnifex, five jump pack SMs, five Terminators, a Furioso Dreadnought and two unique models as well as the mini rule book. This seems like an excellent bundle with plenty of savings overall.

Dreadclaw from a Drop Pod Conversion Revised

TJ AKA Old School Terminator here from Dark Future Games to talk about converting Dreadclaws for your Chaos or you 30k army using just a single drop pod kit (technically less than the whole kit). I really dig the fact that using units like the Dreadclaw is becoming more widely accepted. Playing with these units shouldn't break a player's budget and it also shouldn't force them to resort to using the dreaded Pepsi Bottle Proxy. I want to revisit this tutorial, brush up the explanations and help distribute it to a whole other generation of players. Let's take a look.

Emulating Shaltari Shenanigans... Sort Of

by Novus (with great input by Chris Loomis)

I consistently get my PHR ass handed to me by Shaltari because of their speed, particularly on Objective (or Intel/Objective) based missions.  Meta is that you should go for killing the gates, but if you're playing a smart player that may not be possible.  So, I've been thinking on ways to emulate their Shaltnanigans.  A couple of days ago something my gaming buddy, Chris Loomis, said crystalized my thinking.

Contributors Wanted!

Green Stuff Industries is looking for regular contributors of 40k content.  In particular, modeling and conversion though posts on tactics and 40k in general would not be turned down.  I, Novus (the one and only GSI employee), have made the move to Dropzone Commander and am not at all inclined to make the move back to 40k.  This has left a content gap that could be filled by you!

Make yourself heard on a well established blog!  Cut out all that "blog building" and start at the top... er, middle!

Content related to other games would also be very welcome!  GSI has had many excellent contributions over the last 3 years from around the world.

If you're interested in a place to regularly post your work, tutorials, and other hobby content please drop me a line via the Contact Page!

Quick Tip - Moving Decals

by Novus

I've started using decals on my PHR force because I needed a better way to differentiate my Triton A1's from the A2's during the game.  So, I decided to add some unit markings using some GW decals I had laying around.  I liked how the first effort turned out (above) which then lead to me wanting to add the black diamond and skull to all of my units.

Vorax Class Battle Automata - Guest WIP

Word Bearer of The Autoforge blog recently sent me an email link to a WIP blog post for his Vorax conversion.  I don't usually post a lot of WIP stuff outside of what I'm currently working on but I like the imagination of this one.  Below is the text from his email...

Dropzone Tournament - EndGame in Oakland, CA

by Novus

This last weekend I attended the Spring Dropzone Commander tournament at EndGame in Oakland, California. The tournament was full, but one of the EndGame employees, Steve, did me a huge favor by giving me his reservation at the last minute. Thanks, Steve!

My LVO Dropzone Display Board

by Novus

I was pretty sure I wasn't going to place at the LVO Dropzone Tournament so I set my eyes on winning something that I felt I had a more than fair chance of pulling off... Placing first in the painting/modeling side of things.
