I've been a WW2 buff since I was a young kid. I used to build aircraft models and hang them in dogfights from the ceiling in my bedroom. That was 21 different aircraft in 1/48 scale! My dad had to duck when he walked around my room.

My First Bolt Action Game
I've been a WW2 buff since I was a young kid. I used to build aircraft models and hang them in dogfights from the ceiling in my bedroom. That was 21 different aircraft in 1/48 scale! My dad had to duck when he walked around my room.

Escalation League - Round One
Dropzone interest has been falling off in my area, lately. To help combat that trend I decided to organize an escalation league over at Endgame in Oakland to encourage new players. We had 12 folks signed up, but only 6 showed to play. Which for a free event, is to be expected. Unfortunately, 5 of the 6 were our die hard players.

Fleet Rumble - Dropfleet Commander Meetup
Last Saturday, the Dropzone guys at Endgame Oakland got together to play some Dropfleet. We had 11 players show up (The One Who Is Late was late, of course) but only 3 of the 4 factions were represented.

Fall Brawl 2016 Has a Champion!
For organizing my first tournament, it seemed to have gone pretty well. Our local Meta/attendance has dropped off dramatically so I'd hoped to try and breath some life back into the area by hosting a tournament at Endgame in Oakland, CA.

Dropzone Commander Battle Report #29 - 1000 PHR vs. Resistance - Targets of Opportunity
Cameron Blume and I battled it out at Endgame in Oakland, CA back in late June (early July?). Now that he's a Bay Area resident he came by one of our DzC Saturday events and we ran through a 1000 point game of Targets. It was a close (and) bloody game!

Fires of Eden - Dropzone Campaign
by Novus
I attended the first round of the Endgame of Oakland 2016 Dropzone Campaign on March, 5th and had a blast! The campaign uses the Wargame Developments Matrix system to generate things like match-ups and overall storyline. Mike (the GM), Stephen (Co-GM), Chris, and Kyle also added things like Commander leveling (Kyle), weather mapping (which we didn't use this time), and the overall map of the region on Eden (Chris).

DzC Scenario Day - Rescue at Dunkirk, Eden Prime
by Novus
Endgame, my FLGS, has a Dropzone Commander day on the first Saturday of every month. Usually there is some event planned, like a tournament or a campaign day. But, this month nothing was scheduled and we were only about 8 days out. Mike, of Endgame, and Steve, a local player and formerly of Endgame, put the call out for ideas. I spoke up with an idea that has been in my mental system tray for a few months: a Dunkirk-style rescue scenario. Mike told me to run with it and here’s what happened.

Fall Dropzone Tournament at Endgame
by Novus
This time around at Endgame we had 10 players, which is still one of the largest (if not THE largest) Dropzone tournament in the US. I'll go over the highlights of my games, rather than complete battle reports and talk about the rest of the tournament.

Miniatures Swap Meet at Endgame in Oakland, CA
by Novus
This passed Sunday was the bi-annually held (every 2 years!!) Endgame Miniatures Swap Meet. I reserved a table so I could get rid of my Eldar force and some other miscellaneous gaming crap I've collected over the years. I have to say, this is a great idea that every FLGS should consider.

Achievement Unlocked - Retail!
Due to a robust Dropzone Commander community, I've recently started spending my Tuesday nights at the excellent FLGS, EndGame, over in Oakland, CA. I ended up bringing some of my Destroyed Structure markers for folks to use at their quarterly DzC tournament. Never pass up a chance to do some marketing!

Emulating Shaltnanigans - Part the Second
![]() |
| The Scourge Leviathan! |
Last week I attended the EndGame Dropzone Commander Campaign, LEVIATHAN! As its economy is based on Intel, I had high hopes of being able to put some of the theories I put forward on collecting Intel and Objectives in DzC to the test (see Emulating Shaltari Shenanigans... Sort Of). Luckily, both missions I was part of focused on collecting I/O. Although the first was a rural map, I was able to adapt somewhat successfully.
